I have sensitive feet which do not like to be touched. I also have calluses which can be uncomfortable so I was looking for something that I could use for the calluses which my feet could handle. This Foot Rasp Callus Remover was a nice surprise! There are instructions on the box which say to “be gentle”. That’s what worked for me. Soaking my feet first, as the instructions say to do, helped soften the calluses. As long as I was careful to be gentle, my feet were able to handle the remover. The remover is well made. The handle is comfortable to hold. You can move it back and forth as there are ridges for both directions. The instructions mention opening a back cover to clean, but there is no back cover. The callus remover was easy to clean. I used a cleaning brush to rub soap on it and then rinsed it off under running water. I used the remover over a trash can to catch any skin flakes that fell off. You could also put a towel or cloth of some kind underneath to catch the skin flakes.

This is serious-looking rasp, and I was initially unsure how this was going to work without leaving my foot a bloody stump. If you use it as directed---the product description includes directions---it really works well, removing the dry skin and scales very effectively. My feet have not looked or felt as smooth in a long time, and I'm thrilled with how this is working. As for the rasp itself, it's sizable, very sizable in both the metal rasp and again in the handle. Feels really sturdy, and the length of the thing makes if pretty easy to get at your feet without having to go into contortions. While the metal rasp looks a little intimidating at first, the teeth are small, not long enough to rip apart your skin, but enough to grip the softened dead skin and remove it. If your feet are really thickened and dry, you will probably need to repeat the process a few times, and you'll get down to nice smooth skin, and it is doing a wonderful job in rescuing my feet.

I admit this foot file is pretty big and seemed a bit intimidating at first but it has been very affective and has been better at getting the skin off my feet heels than any other foot filer or pumice stone I have tried so far. I have what the doctor told me is called Porokeratosis on my foot heel, which has been very painful so I have to do constant maintenance on my feet to keep the skin from building up and so far this is definitely the best foot filer I have found. I also like the grip of the handle, which I think it is pretty fancy. I definitely think this is a good product for foot maintenance.
